Puma Property Finance announces senior promotion – Rahul Malde

Rahul Malde

Puma Property Finance is pleased to announce that Rahul Malde has been promoted to Director. The promotion reflects Rahul’s continued contribution to Puma’s growth and success over recent years.

Rahul has over a decade of experience in originating, underwriting, executing and managing real estate debt transactions across traditional and alternative asset classes. Prior to joining Puma in 2020, Rahul was an Investment Manager in the Real Estate Debt Strategies business at Federated Hermes, focussing on UK and European real estate credit and CMBS opportunities. He began his career in Nationwide’s Commercial Real Estate division with responsibility for distressed debt restructuring and workouts. Rahul holds a BSc (Hons) in Banking & International Finance from Cass Business School and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.

With a growing expert team in place, Puma recently reached a new milestone, having funded over £2 billion of property developments. These developments span multiple, diverse sectors, across all residential and commercial asset classes.

Earlier this year, Puma also announced the launch of its Impact Lending Framework (‘the Framework’). The Framework provides direct financial incentives to developers to deliver high levels of sustainability or social impact in their designs. It sets out criteria under which prospective development projects can qualify as an Impact Loan, subject to external, third-party verification. Qualification as an Impact Loan provides a fee reduction (as much as 1%) on final repayment of the loan.

Paul Frost, Managing Director of Puma Property Finance, said of the promotion:

“I would like to congratulate Rahul on his recent promotion to Director within the team. It is recognition of his hard work and collaborative spirit, and he continues to be a real asset to the business. I wish him every continued success.”

Commenting on his promotion, Rahul Malde, Director at Puma Property Finance, added:

“Puma has a longstanding commitment to the UK real estate development finance market, spanning a range of sectors and geographies. It has been a real pleasure to be part of this journey over the past four years. As I step into my new role, I am excited to continue to play a small part in the evolution of the built environment alongside our trusted developments partners.”
